about

Once upon a time, i was playing down at the wharf, making beatjazz and enjoying the sunshine in relative obscurity because no one ever really acted like they wanted to be down with the freak in the helmet. i was off in my own little world, eyes closed, watching civilizations rise and fall in my minds eye, while providing a sound track that i felt was appropriate. and then, there she was.

This Gorgeous woman stops and fixes her amazing brown eyes on me. I was STUCK. I didnt know what to do. i wanted to stop and ask her her name, but that would more than likely break the spell, so i decided to serenade her. i didnt really have a plan at that point, i just kind of launched into what you hear. I flowed with it for a while and i could not help notice that she was smiling at me so i felt that i should say something, so i said, "Need your love to-night!". problem was that i didnt really have anything to follow it up with, so i just kept saying it, riffing on it, scatting around it.

she was now noticeably grooving...rocking back and forth, while keeping a constant eye contact. then...one of her girl friends came and grabbed her by the arm and pulled her along. apparently, they were tired of this little display, or felt left out or something. and like that, it was over...but i had the recording, so it wasnt a complete loss.
